SSOM Microscopy Conference 2029 information round
The SSOM will be responsible for the organization of the microscopy conference ("Dreiländertagung") in 2029. This meeting will receive over 1000 members, with a budget over 1 million CHF. Organization has started already.
Festschrift for Prof Paul Walther
Paul Walther, the Swiss former ETH scientist is renowned for his groundbreaking work in electron microscopy and imaging techniques. After a 46-year career, he retired in 2024, leaving a significant legacy in the field. Walther’s expertise covers methods such as cryo-FE-SEM, FIB-SEM, and STEM tomography, impacting research on cells, plants, and viruses. The Journal of Microscopy published a special Festschrift to honor Walther, highlighting his influence and innovations that continue to guide scientists around the world
